Happy Jr.

Builder: Byon Garrabrant

Happy Jr. is my home brew mini-sumo. The brain is a "minimal brain" controller board I designed, and the motors are Solarbotics GM8s. The chassis is aluminium flashing from Home Depot (about 30 cents worth) and the bot starts with the blade upright to fit withing the required size limit. After the start of the event, it drops down to fighting position.
Though it did well at the LVBots Challenge 1.5, and very well at the 2005 PAReX event, that was heavily due to luck. The bot is very blind when it comes to spotting its opponents, something I hope to work on in the future.
